Two Lenses, One Pocket Camera
The defining change is DJI's first dual-lens Pocket camera system. The primary lens is a 20mm-equivalent wide-angle lens at f/2.0, sitting in front of a new 1-inch CMOS sensor.
Alongside it is a dedicated 60mm-equivalent medium-telephoto lens at f/1.8 with its own 1/1.28-inch CMOS sensor. It is built specifically as a portrait tool and produces natural background blur equivalent to roughly f/6.3 on full frame, instead of relying on the computational fake-bokeh effect used by most phones and compact cameras.
The telephoto camera provides a genuine 3x optical field of view rather than cropping the main camera image. In supported video modes, digital zoom can extend the range up to 12x, while still photography supports up to 9x digital zoom.
A Sensor Built for Dynamic Range
Using LOFIC, which stands for lateral overflow integration capacitor, sensor technology, the Osmo Pocket 4P's wide-angle camera claims up to 17 stops of dynamic range in the D-Log 2 colour profile. This compares with 14 stops on the standard Osmo Pocket 4.
DJI's new 10-bit D-Log 2 colour profile is designed to retain more highlight and shadow information while capturing over one billion colours. This provides greater flexibility during professional colour grading.
However, 10-bit D-Log 2 is supported only at 1x zoom through the main wide-angle camera. It is not available through the 3x medium-telephoto camera.
Video, Storage, and Tracking
Like the standard Osmo Pocket 4, the Pocket 4P's wide-angle camera records slow-motion video at up to 4K/240fps. The medium-telephoto camera supports slow-motion recording at up to 4K/200fps.
The Pocket 4P also runs ActiveTrack 8.0, an upgrade from the Pocket 4's ActiveTrack 7.0. It adds telephoto tracking and multi-person tracking support.
Built-in storage sits at 103GB, slightly below the standard Pocket 4's 107GB. The reduced storage helps make room for the second lens assembly.
Electronic shutter speed reaches as fast as 1/16,000 sec, providing additional exposure control when shooting in very bright conditions.
What It Costs to Step Up to the 4P
Compared with the single-lens Osmo Pocket 4, the Pocket 4P is heavier at approximately 230g versus 190.5g. Battery runtime is also slightly lower at around 210 minutes, compared with the Pocket 4's 240 minutes.
These are the main trade-offs for the additional lens and processing power. Battery capacity remains unchanged at 1,545mAh.
Internationally, DJI has priced the Pocket 4P Standard Combo at approximately £529 in the UK, with euro pricing varying by country.
The Vlog Combo costs approximately £605 in the UK and includes additional creator accessories such as a DJI Mic Mini 2 transmitter, Osmo FrameTap, mini tripod, carrying bag, and other accessories. Prices and package contents may vary by market.
Global Launch Status
