Choose the Redmi Watch 6 Active for everyday notifications and Bluetooth calls at Rs. 12,699. Choose the Watch 6 Lite at Rs. 17,999 if you want built-in satellite positioning for outdoor workouts and a larger screen.
The difference is Rs. 5,300 at our latest price check. You don't have to pay that extra just to get AMOLED: both watches have an AMOLED display.

Buy the Lite for routes, not just a longer feature list
If you like leaving your phone behind on a run, the Lite's built-in GNSS is the main reason to spend more. Xiaomi explicitly lists satellite positioning for the Lite. We wouldn't buy the Active expecting the same independent route-recording feature.
For gym sessions, steps and checking notifications, that difference may be less important. Decide whether you actually need a route map before paying Rs. 5,300 for a feature you won't use.
Both give you an AMOLED screen
The Active isn't an LCD watch. Its 1.85-inch AMOLED panel is simply smaller than the Lite's 1.96-inch panel. The Lite also has a higher published resolution and peak-brightness rating. Those are useful differences, but they don't turn the cheaper model into a poor choice for reading a message or checking the time.
Battery and water resistance need a closer look
The two watches share the same stated battery capacity and headline runtime scenarios. The 18-day figure is for light use. Leaving more monitoring features and the always-on display enabled can shorten the time between charges.
They do not share the same water-resistance rating: Xiaomi lists IP68 for the Active and 5ATM for the Lite. Follow the permitted activities in the exact model's manual. Don't treat those labels as interchangeable or assume either watch is suitable for diving.
Our buying advice
The Active is the sensible starting point if you mainly want a watch for calls, notifications and day-to-day activity. The Lite earns its higher price when built-in GNSS and the larger screen solve a specific need. If neither matters to you, keep the Rs. 5,300.
Want an even bigger screen and longer light-use battery? The standard Redmi Watch 6 has a 2.07-inch AMOLED display and built-in GNSS, and we also compare it with the Redmi Watch 5.
